On July 25th, 2020, people all over the world filmed their lives and shared their stories to be part of a documentary film. When all the submissions were tallied, the filmmakers had received over 300,000 videos from 192 countries. The result is a stirring film about love, death, heartbreak, and hope that looks beyond geography and circumstance to explore what connects us as humans.

This five-part documentary series follows young adults on the autism spectrum as they explore the unpredictable world of love, dating and relationships. Most people on the spectrum have the same desire for intimacy and companionship as the rest of the population, yet difficulties in social interaction and communication are a key feature of autism, which makes finding a partner an often daunting and difficult experience. Many haven’t been on a date, ever. 'Love on the Spectrum' follows seven singles as they take their first steps into the world of dating and also couples who have found their match.
In the first episode, Michael is determined to find a wife but has never been on a date. He attends a singles dinner and finds a connection. Chloe hopes to find someone who will see beyond her disabilities. Ruth and Thomas celebrate a special anniversary.

It's Valentine's Day and Maddi steps out on her first ever date with a romantic man. Kelvin works with a relationship specialist and puts his dating skills to the test. Michael is overwhelmed when he meets the woman of his dreams.

Mark has never had a girlfriend, but he wants love more than anything. Maddi and Mark are going on their second date at the Australian Museum. Olivia has had 'a bazillion' unrequited loves but is not ready to give up. Maddi dates a new man who impresses her with his musical talent.

Olivia meets someone who seems to truly get her. Andrew has found out about a speed dating event being held in town. He works on his jokes and James Bond impersonations before going to the dinner. Jimmy and Sharnae go on a special holiday together where Jimmy plans a romantic surprise.
