Dean Potter emerges as one of the most daring and controversial figures in modern adventure, a climber, highline walker and BASE jumper driven by an almost mystical need to move toward fear. Through breathtaking footage, personal reflections and the voices of those who knew him, this documentary explores how he turned cliffs, voids and impossible lines into places of freedom, beauty and danger. But behind the legendary ascents and world records lies a more fragile and divided man, struggling with relationships, identity, obsession and the heavy cost of living as if every boundary were meant to be broken.
In the first two episodes, Dean finds escape and joy in extreme climbing, pushing himself through bold ascents, speed records and free-solo feats that make him both admired and misunderstood. As his rebellious image grows, so do the pressures around his personal life and the risks he is willing to take. He searches for peace in highlining, BASE jumping and the terrifying purity of climbing without a rope, while his “Dark Wizard” persona attracts devoted followers and fierce criticism. Then a new force enters the climbing world: Alex Honnold, whose arrival threatens Dean’s place at the edge of the sport and turns admiration, rivalry and fear into a powerful new chapter.

In the first three episodes of Season 2, Ragnar Lothbrok is thrust into a brutal conflict that threatens both his family and his ambitions. Fighting alongside King Horik against Jarl Borg, he is forced to confront the ultimate betrayal when his own brother Rollo stands on the opposite side of the battlefield. But victory brings little peace. Princess Aslaug arrives in Kattegat carrying Ragnar’s child, shattering his marriage to Lagertha and dividing his family just as Ragnar’s dreams of returning west begin to grow.
Ragnar is Earl and prepares a new expedition to England. A violent storm scatters the Viking fleet and drives the survivors onto the shores of Wessex, where they encounter a formidable new ruler, King Ecbert. Raids, ambushes and bloody clashes mark the beginning of a dangerous struggle for power, while Athelstan’s knowledge of England becomes increasingly valuable. Yet the greatest threat may be waiting at home: as Ragnar pushes deeper into Wessex, the embittered Jarl Borg turns his attention towards Kattegat. These opening episodes launch the season with brother against brother, Viking against Saxon, and ambition, loyalty and revenge threatening to tear Ragnar’s world apart.

In episodes 7 and 8 of Season 2, rivalries harden and new alliances begin to reshape the balance of power on both sides of the sea. Ragnar and King Horik clash over the fate of Jarl Borg and over who should control their next expedition to England. While Horik argues that they still need Borg’s ships and warriors, Ragnar finds an unexpected new ally in Lagertha, now commanding warriors of her own. With that obstacle removed, Ragnar carries out one of the most terrifying punishments in Viking tradition: the blood eagle. At the same time, King Ecbert welcomes King Aelle to Wessex and seals an alliance between their kingdoms through marriage, preparing England for the Vikings’ inevitable return.
The tension only increases when Aslaug’s dark prophecy appears to come true with the birth of Ragnar’s son Ivar, while the Viking fleet once again sails for Wessex. Ragnar wants negotiation and sees the possibility of something more lasting than simple plunder, but Horik is driven by revenge and increasingly resents Ragnar’s independence. Ecbert, meanwhile, prepares both for peace and war, using Athelstan as a link to the man he knows is unlike any other Viking leader. When Ragnar discovers that Athelstan is still alive and Ecbert offers talks under safe conduct, the possibility of a historic agreement suddenly emerges—but distrust, ambition and bloodshed threaten to destroy it before it can even begin.
