Apollo 13: Survival

   2024    Technology
This featured films offers a gripping dive into one of the most dramatic moments in space exploration history. In April 1970, what began as a routine mission to the moon turned into a life-threatening ordeal when an unexpected explosion crippled the Apollo 13 spacecraft. With limited oxygen, power, and no margin for error, three astronauts found themselves in a desperate fight for survival. This documentary unveils the heart-stopping events that unfolded over four days, capturing the tension, innovation, and teamwork that made their safe return possible. Featuring never-before-seen footage and firsthand accounts, it's an unforgettable story of human endurance and ingenuity.

Webb Telescope: The Story So Far

   2024    Science    HD
In July 2022, the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) unveiled its first breathtaking images, offering an unprecedented level of detail of stars, galaxies, and planets. But for scientists, these images were just the start of an exciting journey to uncover the universe's secrets. This documentary follows Chris Lintott as he embarks on a road trip to meet the researchers who have been eagerly analyzing JWST's data, revealing groundbreaking discoveries about exoplanet atmospheres, the outer planets of our solar system, and the earliest galaxies in the cosmos.
To mark the second anniversary of JWST's first images, Chris, along with presenters Maggie Aderin-Pocock and George Dransfield, revisits these scientists to explore the telescope's successes and challenges. From new jet streams on Jupiter to quirks on Uranus and Neptune, and insights into the ancient universe, the documentary showcases the remarkable findings made possible by JWST. Additionally, resident astronomer Pete Lawrence guides viewers on how to observe the night sky's wonders, aligning their stargazing with the telescope's targets. This captivating journey into space science promises to inspire and intrigue.

Good Night Oppy

   2022    Technology
The film follows Opportunity, the Mars exploration rover launched in 2003, affectionately dubbed Oppy by her creators and scientists at NASA. Oppy was originally expected to live for only 90 days but she ultimately explored Mars for nearly 15 years.
With access to archival and interview footage with scientists and engineers and re-creations of the rover's treks over the Martian landscape in search of water, we will explore her groundbreaking journey on Mars and the remarkable bond forged between a robot and her humans creators millions of miles away. The narrative interrogates the significance of Opportunity's endurance for the future of interstellar discovery.

How Time and Consciousness Arise

   2024    Science    HD
The documentary, an own production, immerses the viewer in a journey that blends science and philosophy, questioning the nature of time and unveiling a 4-dimensional universe, where space and time are integrated. We are invited to consider a universe in which past, present, and future coexist, suggesting that our linear perception of time might be more of a mental construction than a physical reality. The narrative progresses by exploring how quantum particles exist in states of probability until they are observed, at which point they acquire defined properties. Then, the provocative hypothesis is presented that observation also fixes the temporal dimension of the particles.
The sensation of the flow of time and the distinction between past, present, and future are introduced as mental constructions, arising from the human brain's limited capacity to process the complexity of reality. It is then proposed that the mind, by observing itself, fixes itself in the temporal dimension, thus creating the illusion of the present. Finally, the impact of these theories on free will is discussed.
This documentary challenges viewers to look beyond their everyday perceptions and consider the possibility that reality is much more complex and fascinating than our immediate experiences suggest. It is an invitation to explore the limits of science, philosophy, and the mind itself in search of answers to some of the deepest questions of existence.
